Particular Benefit Of Moderate Temperatures In Mexico

Particular Benefit Of Moderate Temperatures In Mexico

Jan 02

A few months ago, we gave you an in-depth look at the weather that characterizes various parts of the nation of Mexico. Though Mexico, like any other nation, has its distinguishable seasons, the Southern half of the country, home to some of the most beautiful resorts in the world, is susceptible to warmer temperatures throughout much of the year. This is primarily due to the relatively low altitude of these particular areas.

Areas of Mexico that reside below the 24th parallel, such as Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta, typically receive gorgeous temperatures all year-round, with the median ranging between 75 and 82 degrees. With limited humidity in the air, few residents in this portion of the country have a need for air conditioning. As an alternative, people utilize whole house fans, which draw warmer air out of the home, rather than blowing cooler into it, which is the primary function of an air conditioning unit. For those who live in moderate temperatures, the best whole house fans will reduce air conditioning costs by up to 90 percent, if not completely eliminate the need for a unit altogether.

Understanding the Mexican Weather

Understanding the Mexican Weather

Aug 25

The weather in various parts of the world varies on a yearly, monthly, weekly, and even daily basis. Mexico is no different. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the North American continent, the weather in Mexico bears watching. This will ensure that you are not caught unawares about any weather changes that may happen at various seasons during the year.

While many people think that Mexico is usually hot, this is not always the case. Because it is a large country, the weather conditions vary from place to place within its boundaries. Two factors that generally influence what the weather will be like in Mexico are the altitude as well as the latitude.

The country experiences tow major seasons. One of this is the rainy season while the other is the dry season. The rainy season in Mexico is between May to September and has some of the highest temperatures of the year. The hurricane season occurs during some of the rainy season and extends further to November. The hurricane season also brings with it other natural disasters associated with this kind of weather. All the other months outside the rainy season are usually quite dry.

The coastal and low-lying areas in Mexico are usually located within the southern part of the country. Because of their low altitudes, they end up withstanding the worst of the hot and humid weather conditions that are experienced during the rainy season. The inland areas on the other hand, usually experience temperate weather patterns, which results in their being quite chilly during the rainy season.

While these are by far the tow major and widespread weather patterns you can experience in Mexico, they are by no means the only conditions. Mexico has some very low-lying areas that are very dry and rarely see any rain even during the rainy seasons. These are the desert areas of Mexico. It is here that you will get to see the dry parched landscape with rains in the late times of the day if any.

Other weather variations are in the lush valleys as well as the tropical forests of the country. It is here that you will experience plenty of rain, which results in evergreen surroundings year round. In the higher altitude areas of Mexico on the other hand, you can get to see snow-capped mountains. The weather in such areas is usually chilly year around and you will have to acclimatize if you want to live in the surroundings for a relatively long period.
Because the weather in Mexico is so varied, you need to ensure you check out the daily forecast as well as the long-term forecast if you intend to visit and live in the country. This will help you know what to expect as well as estimate the amount of money you may have to pay depending on peak and off-peak times of the year. You should however, never fear to go on a visit to Mexico simply because the weather at the time may be a little bid extreme. This is because each weather pattern in various seasons will help you experience the country in a new way. It is worth trying out new things.

Just How Bad Is The Violence In Mexico?

Just How Bad Is The Violence In Mexico?

Jul 22

If you have watched the news over the last five years, then you would have found it difficult to avoid reports about the violence in Mexico that is directly related to the drugs trade. A quite startling number of people have been killed and numerous others kidnapped, assaulted, and a whole host of other crimes that means that parts of this country are virtually a no-go area.

In order to show how things have developed it is always best to look at some official facts and figures and there are certainly enough of them around for you to choose from. It is worth pointing out that figures mentioned here start from 2006 as this is seen as being the point where things spiraled out of control due to the crackdown by the then President, Felipe Calderon.

Since then it is estimated that more than 50,000 people have been killed and the problem with this is that official figures are of course much lower, but a number of the deaths are simply not reported so even this figure may be conservative. These figures include people from the drugs gangs, they are often killed by rival factions during turf wars, security people, and of course people who were unfortunately caught up in the violence.

Initially the violence was concentrated at the main access points between Mexico and the United States as well as locations that could be classed as being on the main trafficking routes. This led to places such as Ciudad Juarez being voted as the most dangerous city in the world due to statistics such as it having 3,100 murders in 2010 out of a population of under one million, but since then the violence has spread further afield to the point whereby most of the country has been affected by the trouble.

What then is being done about it? There was of course a security clampdown and at this moment in time an estimated 50,000 troops and police are in action trying to tackle the drugs gangs that are responsible for the violence. They do appear to be having some success as more people that belong to the top echelons in the drugs gangs have been arrested and more drugs and money having been seized than ever before, but it is clear that there is still some way to go before the problem is actually solved. The military and police may be able to reduce violence towards innocent people, but the problem still remains between the gangs themselves as more factions appear as larger gangs disintegrate leading to more leaders trying to stake their own claims by using extreme violence and murder to intimidate their rivals.

This has hopefully shown you the level of violence in Mexico and even though the government is taking steps to crack down on the trouble it has to do so even from within its own law enforcement squads due to the risk of corruption. A new government has just been sworn in, so it will be interesting to see how things develop over the next few years or if they will use the same strategy before that has resulted in thousands of deaths across the country.
